Important information on the drive changeover

As part of a product update of the EK90 smoke control damper (EK92 series), changes have been made to the drive assignment. This results in size-dependent changes to the dimensions of the EK90 smoke control damper (EK92 series), the torques of the drives and the ventilation application areas. Product Info

The maintenance-free smoke control damper EK90, series EK92, is classified as EI 90 (Vedw, hodw, i↔o) S 1500 Cmod HOT400/30 MA multi. It complies with the European product standard EN 12101-8.

The smoke control damper is designed for smoke extraction and ventilation on mechanical equipment and hence is generally also used as a so-called "combi-damper". It is manufactured in sizes from 200 x 200 mm to 1500 mm x 800 mm (W x H) and in lengths from 350 mm to 850 mm. It is suitable for volume flows up to 43,200 m³/h. Installation is straightforward and practical. It dispenses with the otherwise necessary gasket stops and is thus particularly energy efficient. The new sealing system increases the inner cross section. The pressure drop and fan power to be applied are significantly lower. The sound power, which is important for ventilation systems, is also substantially lower.

The fire safety tests were conducted in accordance with EN 1366-10 and EN 1366-2. The classification "MA" verified for use in Germany means that the smoke control damper can still be opened after full exposure to fire for a period of 25 minutes. Both automatic and manual release is possible. Smoke extraction ducts and cover grilles may be connected.

The smoke control damper EK90, series EK92, moreover fulfils the HOT-classification. That means, the smoke control dampers open and close at least after 30 minutes at 400°C fire exposure.
