Range of installation options for fire dampers extended

FK90 fire damper can now be used in solid gypsum blocks in accordance with EN 12859 (formerly DIN 18163)!

Solid walls can be constructed in different ways. These include walls made of concrete, lightweight concrete or aerated concrete, but also walls made of masonry. The installation of the FK90 fire damper in these walls has been tried and tested for years. The installation in solid walls made of gypsum wallboards according to EN 12859 (formerly DIN 18163) has now been added. We are thus consistently pursuing our strategy of universal installation of our fire dampers.

The aim is to be able to use one and the same fire damper in a wide variety of situations. For our customers, this means a high degree of planning security and the certainty of being able to react calmly to structural changes.

120 minutes fire resistance with only 80 mm wall thickness

Solid gypsum wallboards according to EN 12859 consist throughout of gypsum. For the construction of non-load-bearing inner walls, only tongue and groove are glued with a special gypsum adhesive. Mortar or a substructure are not required. The fire resistance duration of up to 120 minutes with a wall thickness of only 80 mm should be emphasised. This space-saving wall construction is often used for partition walls or shaft walls.
