The new nursery will be built on the former fire station site as a modern, barrier-free, two-storey building. The planning was carried out in close cooperation with the engineering firm Heine from Leer.
A total of four group rooms are planned. Two for nursery children and two for kindergarten children, with space for up to 80 children. The room concept is complemented by an exercise room, a workshop for creative activities, a preschool or therapy room, and a spacious dining room for communal meals and events.
The adjacent outdoor area will also be designed with children in mind. A securely fenced garden with play equipment, sandpits and climbing facilities will offer plenty of space for playing, learning and romping around. The areas will be divided according to age so that both the youngest children and the kindergarten children can be optimally supported.
The daycare centre is scheduled to open in spring 2027.
‘We are very pleased to be creating a family-friendly environment with this daycare centre and at the same time investing in the future of our region,’ emphasises Wildeboer's management. ‘Company childcare is an important step towards providing long-term relief and support for our employees.’
