VDI EE 2077 Sheet 4.1: Consumption-based billing of ventilation costs using volume flow controllers

This VDI expert recommendation deals with the distribution and billing of energy and media costs for ventilation and air conditioning systems.

Volume flow controllers measure and distribute volume flows, thereby making an important contribution to consumption-based billing of ventilation costs. The new expert recommendation for VDI 2077 Sheet 4 ‘Consumption-based billing of energy costs for mechanical ventilation’ picks up on these advantages and demonstrates the shift from flat-rate approaches to a technically and economically correct procedure.

The recommendation describes how air volumes and running times can be precisely recorded, assigned to individual zones and distributed in a transparent and comprehensible manner. It thus provides an important impetus for greater transparency and fairness in the billing of energy costs in building services engineering.

The expert recommendation was developed by experts from Wildeboer, Kieback und Peter, Goldbeck and Belimo. The publication is now available from DIN Media.

Free webinar on VDI EE 2077 Sheet 4.1

To accompany the new recommendation, we cordially invite you to a free webinar (in German!). Together with GOLDBECK, Belimo, and Kieback & Peter, we at Wildeboer will provide insights into the contents of VDI EE 2077 Sheet 4.1 and show how consumption-based billing of ventilation costs can be implemented in practice.

In the webinar, Dennis Schwarz (Product Management, Ventilation Systems & Components) and Kilian Gouterney (Development, Ventilation Systems & Components) will explain more about how volume flow controllers work, using Wildeboer as an example.

Date:

  • Thursday, 5 March 2026
  • 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
  • The event will be recorded.
