The new, CE-certified EK92 series of maintenance-free EK90 smoke control dampers is now classified as EI 90 (vedw, hodw, i↔o) S 1500 Cmod MA multi and fulfils the current construction products list.
A unique feature is the installation in lightweight partition walls in addition to solid walls and ceilings. The damper can also be installed in and on horizontal and vertical ducts. The smoke control dampers are suitable for mechanical smoke extraction and ventilation systems and can therefore generally be used as so-called "combination dampers". They are manufactured in sizes W x H = 200 x 200 mm to 1500 x 800 mm and lengths of 350 mm to 850 mm. They are suitable for volume flows of up to 43,200 m³/h and flow velocities of up to 20 m/s.
The design of these smoke control dampers is new and trend-setting, as it does without the conventional sealing stops. The new sealing system significantly increases the internal cross-section through which the air flows. This reduces the pressure loss and the fan power required.
The fire protection tests were carried out in accordance with DIN EN 1366-10 and DIN EN 1366-2. The proven "MA" classification means that the smoke control dampers can still be opened after full exposure to fire for 25 minutes.
The CE marking and the declaration of performance fulfil the Construction Products Regulation and building law requirements. This provides planners and system manufacturers with certainty of use.
