From Weener to the wide world - Donation takes OS Weener to London

Wildeboer was able to make two tenth-grade classes of the Weener secondary school very happy with a donation. Thanks to this support, a class trip to London could be realised for 50 pupils.

The trip will start at the beginning of September. In London, they can marvel at sights and places they otherwise only know from the textbooks in English class. The two final-year classes of the OS Weener will also be able to experience the language and culture of Great Britain at first hand. The London Eye, musicals, Buckingham Palace and day trips to Oxford or Brighton are just some of the extensive programme of the school trip. The pupils also get the opportunity to discover the surrounding area on their own on two afternoons and, for example, attend a football match.

"Since Brexit, possible funding from the EU is no longer available, so we are more than grateful for the company's support," said Ms Koetsier, one of the two teachers at OS Weener, who had already initiated a meeting with the company in autumn 2022.

To document the trip for family and friends at home, we brought the two classes another surprise: a bag containing a powerbank and a notebook with a pen. This way, the students can decide for themselves in which form they want to "save" their memories of what they have experienced.

We wish everyone a good trip, pleasant weather and above all an exciting time in London!
