SE sound splitters
SE sound splitters are available as combined absorption and resonance splitters or pure absorption splitters. With eight attenuator thicknesses and flexible size options for length and height in 1-mm increments, they offer a wide range of customisation options. Flow-optimised attenuator covers minimise pressure loss and flow noise and increase energy efficiency, while the design ensures high static load capacity.
Technical details
- Low pressure loss due to optimised splitter cover profile for low energy consumption
- Different splitter types as absorbers or broadband for optimal fulfilment of requirements
- Small sizes possible for good sound attenuation in confined spaces
- Different splitter thicknesses for maximum flexibility
- Improved insertion loss
- High-quality workmanship with smooth edges for safe handling
- Straight edges between splitters and duct wall to avoid dirt traps and meet high hygienic requirements

Product details
SE sound attenuators/splitters are special components for use in splitter silencers or air ducts, which are used to reduce flow noise in ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC systems). They are designed to effectively attenuate the sound generated by the flowing medium air. SE sound attenuators are designed either as combined absorption and resonance sound attenuators (wide strips, SE-B) or as pure absorption sound attenuators (absorbers, SE-A).
A wide range of baffle thicknesses and the option of manufacturing in millimeter increments in height and length guarantee optimum adaptation to the requirements for the required duct size.
SE sound attenuators/splitters
The baffles are designed as a two-chamber construction and are suitable for use in ventilation and air conditioning systems. Outstanding features of their design are their high static load capacity and the flow-optimized shape of the baffle covers.
These features combine to create a durable and energy-efficient product. Their stability is achieved by two frame legs mounted back to back, which are firmly connected to each other by a crimp connection, giving the baffle a particular stability.
The frame legs, in conjunction with the streamlined guide plate covers, form two chambers per guide plate and accommodate the absorption material.
The surfaces of the absorption material used consist of rot-proof, bio-soluble mineral wool. In an absorption baffle, these are covered with tear-proof, abrasion-resistant and moisture-repellent glass silk (glass filament fabric).
In a broadband baffle, galvanized sheet steel replaces the glass silk on both sides. The absorption materials are hydrophobic, which makes it difficult for moisture to penetrate.
Sound attenuation
The broadband sound attenuation of the absorption and resonance sound attenuator baffle is optimal in the critical frequency range of 250 Hz. They reduce a wide range of noises across a broad spectrum of frequencies, with a particular focus on the low and mid-frequency range.
The sound attenuation of the pure absorption baffle is optimal in the frequency range of approximately 1,000 Hz and is characterized by very high attenuation of disturbing noises, with a particular focus on the mid and upper frequency ranges.
These sound attenuations are guaranteed for the shortest possible construction length, so that the SE sound attenuators/splitters can be designed as compact as possible. SE baffles are available in a wide range of sizes and thicknesses, are stackable and have a certificate of conformity to prove their non-combustibility (ÜZ DIN 4102 A2).
