Volume flow controllers & volume flow limiter

VKE1 volume flow controller

VKE1 electronic volume flow controllers regulate variable and constant volume flows by balancing the setpoint and actual volume flows. The actual volume flow is determined via the damper angle and the pressure conditions at the butterfly valve blade. The damper blade position and differential pressure enable very accurate control. The efficiency signal provided enables noticeable energy savings by optimizing the fan speed.

Product details

The electronic volume flow controllers VKE1 are suitable for controlling variable and constant volume flows. They are maintenance-free, can be installed in any position and are suitable for controlling supply and exhaust air in ventilation and air conditioning systems.

Available in a wide range of sizes, the VKE1 regulates the required volume flows by means of a single-piece damper blade. VKE1 volume flow controllers have a casing made of galvanized sheet steel.

Energy efficiency through fan control

The Wildeboer volume flow controller provides an efficiency signal that is used to optimize the fan speed. This signal can be used to positively influence the system operating pressure in your building and increase energy efficiency.

Wildeboer pioneered the electronic volume flow controllers VRE1 round and VKE1 square. The measurement method for determining the total pressure difference across the damper blade was first introduced to the market by Wildeboer.

Control accuracy VKE1 volume flow controller

The control variable is formed from the sum of the static and dynamic pressure as the total pressure difference across the damper blade, combined with the damper blade angle, ensuring very high control accuracy of the volume flow across the entire pressure range of the controller.

The deviation is only approx. ±5 % to ±15 %. The volume flow ranges of the VKE1 volume flow controller from Wildeboer are at least 1 : 10, based on Vmin to Vmax.

Leak tightness classes

According to DIN EN 1751, the casing of the VKE1 square volume flow controller has leak tightness class C; the leakage via the butterfly valve blade is class 3 or 4, depending on size.

Operation modes

  • Constant
  • Variable with control signals 0 – 10 V, 2 – 10 V and 2 – 8 V
  • 4-point
  • Override of the damper blade for the “open” and “closed” positions

Product markings

VKE1 volume flow controllers have an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and a hygiene certificate from an independent testing institute.

Options for the VKE1 volume flow controller

  • SKB-V duct silencer (length 1500 mm) for reducing flow noise in the ventilation duct
  • Outer acoustic insulation with sheet metal casing for thermal insulation and reduction of sound radiation
