Smoke Dampers
Wildeboer Smoke control dampers: Their advantages
Wildeboer smoke control dampers stand out for their technical precision, reliability, and versatility. They are suitable for use in both mechanical smoke exhaust systems (MRA) and smoke control pressure systems (RDA), covering a wide range of installation scenarios—from ceiling mounting to smoke control dampers for facades. They meet the requirements of the applicable DIN EN 12101-8.
Your benefits at a glance:
- Flexible designs: The various models make it possible to meet the needs of a wide range of construction projects.
- Tested safety: All products comply with the relevant standards and testing requirements for preventive structural fire protection.
- Maintenance-free design: The smoke control dampers are maintenance-free due to the complete encapsulation of the drive unit and require no cleaning to maintain function, nor recurring lubrication or adjustment.
- Use in multiple sections: Suitable for complex system designs with multiple smoke exhaust sections.
- Suitable for supply air flow: Supports the flow of supply air within a section to be ventilated.
- Shaft ventilation: Specifically suitable for shaft ventilation, including elevator shafts, in accordance with building code requirements.
Comparison of Wildeboer EK90 and EKM90 Smoke control dampers
The two main models of Wildeboer smoke control dampers differ in design and application, but complement each other perfectly within an overall system.
- EK90 – Single-leaf smoke control damper: The EK92 is designed as a single-leaf damper for rectangular cross-sections. It is particularly suitable for use in shaft smoke extraction, including elevator shaft smoke extraction, as well as in compact duct networks. As a rectangular smoke exhaust damper, it offers a space-saving solution and is used for mechanical smoke extraction in stairwells, shafts, or underground parking garages. The EK90 is approved for both mechanical smoke exhaust systems and smoke protection pressure systems and can be used as a bypass opening.
- EKM90 – Multi-leaf smoke control damper: The EKM90 is ideal as a multi-leaf damper for systems with high airflow—such as those used for smoke extraction in industrial halls or large building areas. Its multi-leaf design allows for large opening cross-sections without increasing the overall height. The EKM90 is also suitable for installation as a smoke extraction damper in facades as well as for multiple sections in complex MRA and RDA systems.
Which model is suitable for your project depends on the specific requirements of the respective smoke extraction system.
