When a system is at a standstill, they are suitable for shutting off and closing the air duct to the outside. In combination with a weather protection grille, the uncontrolled entry of moisture is prevented. Designed as pressure relief dampers, multileaf dampers allow the air duct to open automatically and then close.

When selecting a grille, factors such as air flow rate, pressure drop, acoustic requirements and the installation situation on the façade must be taken into account.

When installing weather resistant louvres, care must be taken to ensure they are fitted correctly, securely and in a weather-resistant manner into the external wall or façade. The slats must be aligned in such a way that rainwater is kept out and drained away as effectively as possible. It is also important to ensure a sufficient clear cross-section, appropriate connection dimensions, and to take into account air flow rate, pressure loss and noise levels. The grille should remain easily accessible so that dirt, leaves or foreign objects can be removed as required.
